Finally
Please RSVP by the 16th of August 2026.
Our story started on Fortnite, where we spent weeks shouting into our headsets and realising we made the ultimate gaming duo. We finally traded our mouse and keyboards for a real-life first date to see Spider-Man: No Way Home, where we shoved popcorn in our faces and realised our connection was just as strong offline. Jared played the long game, though, waiting until a camping trip to officially lock things down. Far away from any phone reception, he pulled out his Notes app and read a massive, novel-length speech word-for-word in the cold of winter. Jared brought the essays, but I kept my response short and sweet: "Yes."
Now, we are trading the tents and headsets for the Southern Highlands, ready to level up as husband and wife!
Jared’s original plan for an adventure ride proposal was instantly ruined when I lost my motorbike key, but life had a much bigger test in store for us.
In 2024, a severe accident changed our lives forever, leaving Jared unconscious on life support at Liverpool Hospital. I lived for 5 weeks, hour by hour, driving back and forth every morning and night, and spending every minute by his hospital bed from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM once he was moved to the ward.
It was during those incredibly tough days that Jared decided it was a good time to ask my dad if he could marry me.
He made it home just in time for Christmas, and after three months of recovery, I planned a camping trip at Bents Basin to finally get us back out into the wild. After three hours of fishing and catching absolutely nothing but twigs and weeds, Jared decided it was the perfect moment. He walked over to the car, pulled out his blood pressure machine, saying he was going to check his blood pressure, got down on one knee, and popped the question. After asking him over and over, "Are you serious?" I finally said, "Yes."
